Why it matters

Nearly everyone in prison comes home. We ask Georgia to make every prison an accredited place to learn — job training and education that end in a recognized credential, open to everyone held there. A RAND review of decades of studies found people who took part in prison education had 43% lower odds of returning to prison than those who didn't, and that it can save money by keeping people from coming back.
