Why it matters

Oklahoma posts its state purchase-card transactions online, searchable by merchant and item and updated monthly. Ohio’s OhioCheckbook put state transactions online. A U.S. Government Accountability Office review found 41–48% of sampled federal purchase-card transactions failed basic controls. We ask Connecticut lawmakers to require state agencies to publish purchase-card spending item by item.
